Overview

Vertical Blinds for Wide Windows and Doors, in detail

A vertical blind is the only product that covers a three-metre sliding door without a seam in the middle. Vanes hang individually from self-lubricating carriers, so one damaged vane can be unhooked and replaced in seconds.

We bend tracks to bay-window angles at no extra cost and supply split-draw stacks so the door opening stays clear. Blackout fabrics give bedrooms and meeting rooms genuine darkness at full height.

  • Tracks bent to your bay angles, no extra charge
  • Individual vanes hook on and off without tools
  • Fibreglass-core vanes stay straight at 3 m drop
  • Split draw, centre draw or stack fully to one side
  • Motorised traverse and tilt for high glazing

Measuring

Measuring made simple

Vertical blinds are fitted to the face of the wall or into the ceiling, never inside a shallow recess, because the vanes need room to rotate.

Width

Measure the full opening plus 100 mm overlap each side.

Drop

From the track position to the floor, minus 15 mm so vanes clear rugs.

Side room

Allow 60 mm beside the opening for the vane stack when drawn.

Good to know. For a sliding door, order a split draw so the stack sits over the fixed panel and the opening stays clear.

Care

Looking after your vertical blind

Maintenance

  • Vacuum vanes with a brush attachment every few weeks.
  • Spot clean fabric vanes with foam cleaner; PVC vanes wipe clean.
  • Do not machine wash vanes — the weighted base will separate.
  • Keep the track free of dust so carriers glide smoothly.

Warranty and spares

  • 5 years on track and carriers
  • 3 years on fabric and PVC vanes
  • Individual vanes available in every colour
FAQ

Common questions

Can vertical blinds follow a bay window?

Yes. We bend the track to your exact angles at no extra cost — send a simple plan sketch with the angles and we will confirm the geometry.

Do fabric vanes sag?

Our vanes have a fibreglass core that keeps them straight even at a 3 m drop; the weighted base adds stability.

Can I motorise a vertical blind?

Yes. Traverse and tilt can both be motorised, which is popular for double-height glazing where a chain is out of reach.

How much light do blackout vanes block?

Around 95% with the vanes closed and a 30 mm overlap on each side.

What is the widest span?

6000 mm on a single track, with a centre support every 1800 mm.

Can a single vane be replaced?

Yes — vanes hook on individually, so you never replace a whole blind for one damaged vane.
